Neuro Speech and Language therapy
Find out more about how we can help with neuro SLT
Our approach
A brain injury can result in speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties, including changes to understanding, talking, reading, writing, social skills and skills such as planning and organising, and problem-solving.
These difficulties can impact your everyday life at home, work, school/college, or in the community, impact on relationships and contribute to changes to your confidence, mood and sense of self.
Our speech and language therapists will work with you to help you understand the changes brought about by your brain injury. We will help you to recover skills and develop strategies to minimise the impact of the changes you are experiencing and to support you in achieving your rehab goals. Where appropriate, we can work with those around you (such as family, friends, employers or work colleagues) to help them understand the communication changes and how best to support you.
What to expect
Our work is based on your needs and difficulties. When we first meet you we will ask questions about your situation, what you find difficult and what you want to achieve.
We may use some assessments and questionnaires to help collect information on your communication and cognitive skills. We may also ask someone who knows you well to complete these, with your permission.
Based on this ,we will agree on an intervention plan with you as part of your rehab. Therapy may also include working with your family and friends, and training any support workers you may have working with you. We may also suggest joint sessions with other members of the interdisciplinary team if this fits with your goals.
The frequency we see you, and the length of intervention will depend upon your needs.

Locations we cover
Here are the areas where we can see clients in their homes
We currently work in the South, East and South East of the UK, alongside a recent expansion to Birmingham and the surrounding areas. We charge for the travel time associated with each visit to see a client. Travel is typically charged at 75% of the standard hourly rates. This is based on the projected drive time for the return journey between the therapist’s home and the location in which they are seeing the client. Wherever possible we will allocate therapists who are based nearest to the client’s home.
Where appropriate we can also arrange to see clients in rooms near our therapists, thereby reducing travel costs.
