who we are
Co-founded by Jane, Eve and Martha, our highly experienced team brings together neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech and language therapy.

Jane is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Professor of Psychology, having previously worked at the Institute of Psychiatry (KCL), Goldsmiths, and the University of Surrey. Her research has included establishing and evaluating the RNRU Outreach Team (on which cognivate is based), demonstrating the benefits of interdisciplinary community rehabilitation for people at any stage after brain injury.

Dr Anita Rose is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist who is well regarded in the field of Brain Injury and Chronic Neurological Conditions having gained extensive experience working in the field of Neuropsychology. As well as her involvement in the clinical field and in research, she has been published widely in peer-reviewed journals and several books.Anita is a Patron, Trustee and Clinical Advisor to many neurological organisations across the world and is passionately committed to the development of services of excellence for those affected by brain injury and other neurological conditions.

Lydia, our Chief Operating Officer, joined Cognivate after serving as the COO at a health and wellbeing start-up. She brings her expertise to foster our growth and drive operational excellence in our daily procedures. Lydia finds joy in assisting others and plays a central role in steering our business in the right direction.

Kathy is a Neurophysiotherapist whose expertise in working with adults after acquired brain injury (ABI) is based on experience gained from roles based in several large Teaching NHS Trusts. This included nine years at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, from which she moved to lead a Community Neuro Team in Surrey. Her specialist areas include upper limb rehabilitation and optimising physical activity and exercise.
Kathy McDougall
Lead Neuro Physiotherapist

Alison is an experienced Neuro Occupational Therapist who has also been a Lecturer at London South Bank University. She has worked in diverse neurorehabilitation services specialising in supporting stroke early discharge, wheelchair provision, and augmentative and alternative communication at the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability. Her specific expertise includes cognitive, upper limb and vocational rehabilitation.
Alison Hipkiss
Lead Neuro Occupational Therapist

Ronda has worked in neuro rehabilitation units across the southeast, served as Head of Therapies and a member of the senior management team at a brain injury unit, and held the position of Senior Occupational Therapist in palliative care. She completed an MSc in Rehabilitation, with her dissertation focusing on the management of fatigue in brain injury. Additionally, Ronda has conducted education courses and is a trainer in advanced manual handling.
Ronda Boswell
Neuro Occupational Therapist

Liz is a Neuropsychologist specialising in working with adults with acquired brain injury. She has over 10 years experience working within neurorehabilitation, which includes managing a multi-disciplinary inpatient neurorehabilitation unit. She is comfortable working with a wide range of psychosocial difficulties arising from brain injury, and promotes a solution focused approach.
Dr Liz Acland
Neuropsychologist

Katy is a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with over 20 years’ experience working in the field of acquired brain injury (ABI), across health, education, independent, and voluntary sectors. She has operational and strategic leadership experience from leading adult inpatient and paediatric community neurorehabilitation services. Katy chairs a national acquired brain injury clinical network for SLTs and is an advisor to a children’s brain injury charity. She has a particular interest in working with older teens and adults with cognitive-communication disorders following ABI, utilising a holistic, person centred approach.

Gemma is an experienced administrator with ten years in recruitment and higher education. She is skilled in office management, calendar coordination, travel arrangements, and document preparation. Known for her attention to detail, Gemma works well in fast-paced environments and handles multiple tasks efficiently. Her organisational skills and proficiency in IT help streamline processes and improve efficiency. Gemma is dedicated to providing reliable administrative support and contributing to team success.
